The show judge telephoned 14-year-old Rebecca from Bristol – who suffers from leukaemia – to offer her the chance to visit the show and meet ice-skating legends and mentors Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as part of the ‘Have A Heart Appeal’ by radio station Heart FM.
She said: “I’ve got some news which I hope you will be excited about. We know you’ve had to spend a lot of time in hospital and think you deserve something very special.
“You contacted Starlight Children’s Foundation and made a wish recently didn’t you? I’m ringing to tell you that Torvill and Dean would like to invite you to come down to ITV to this series of ‘Dancing On Ice’ to meet them, and to watch the live show afterwards! How does that sound?” Read more… »

DANNII Minogue has bigged up new Dancing On Ice star Emma Bunton, raving that the former Spice Girl is her favourite judge.
The Aussie praised fellow singer-come-judge Emma, who joined the ITV1 skating show this year, despite her own fate on The X Factor being up in the air.
Referring to Emma on her Twitter page, she wrote: “I just saw Dancing On Ice for the first time – you are the BEST judge!”
Last month Dannii announced she is expected a baby with her fella Kris Smith and has not yet been given the green light on this year’s X Factor.
She recently told Glamour magazine: “I’d love to be involved again, but to be honest, it’s the furthest thing from my mind.”

Emma Bunton has revealed that she has no plans to record a new solo album in the near future.
The former Spice Girl, who is currently a judge on ITV show Dancing On Ice, claimed that she is too busy to return to her music career.
Asked whether she wants to make another solo record, she told Metro: “Not at the moment. Beau, my little boy, is my main focus.
“I love singing but promoting an album means you work incredibly hard and right now I need that time to be with my son. I’d love to do it again, though.”
The 33-year-old claimed that the Spice Girls reunion tour in 2007 was a highlight of her career.
“The last tour stands out the most, being at the O2 and having our children on the stage watching. Just being able to do the whole Spice Girls thing again was really special,” she said.
“As a solo artist, a concert in Australia where 10,000 people sang ‘What Took You So Long?’ was a highlight. It’s a great feeling to know your album is being sold in other countries.”
Bunton secured two Top 10 solo albums with 2001’s A Girl Like Me and Free Me in 2004. Her third LP Life In Mono stalled at number 65 in 2006.

The 33-year-old turns judge on the ITV 1 show and reckons she’ll show some Girl Power and tell the nervous skating stars exactly what’s what – as well as giving ice queen judge Jason Gardiner a run for his money.

Emma Bunton has recruited Dannii Minogue’s hairdresser Christian Vermaak for the new series of Dancing On Ice, according to a report.
The former Spice Girl decided that she wanted to work with Vermaak after noticing how he transformed Minogue’s short bob into a variety of styles on The X Factor last year, The Sun claims.
A source told the newspaper: “Emma plans to go all-out with her image on the show. She wants to make sure she is the centre of attention and after seeing all the coverage Dannii got for her hair, she wanted Christian Vermaak on her team.”
Bunton was confirmed as a new Dancing On Ice judge last month. She replaces Ruthie Henshall on the panel.

In an interview with The News Of The World, Emma promised to be an honest judge, without Jason Gardiner’s cruel streak.
“You don’t get through this industry by being nice and sweet,” she warned. “I am very strong and I’m sure that people will see that side of me.”
“You have to be outspoken,” she added. “I say exactly what I think, and I’m going to say exactly what I see, too. I’m there to give contestants my opinion – good or bad.”
In answer to claims that she isn’t experienced enough to critique the contestants on the ITV ice skating show Emma quipped:
“Jason doesn’t have ice-skating experience. And while there are people who know about technique, you also need someone with a great eye for performance.”

The former Spice Girl has taken over from Ruthie Henshall on the judging panel of the ice dance contest.

Emma Bunton is said to be “devastated” after the father of her partner Jade Jones died on Christmas Day.
According to The Mirror, Jones’s dad suffered a fatal heart attack while celebrating the festive season with family and friends in his native Jamaica.
It is thought that Jones and Bunton were later informed about the news in a phone call to their home in Barnet, Herts.
A source said: “The family are devastated and still in mourning. Both Jade and Emma are shell-shocked. Jade’s father was on holiday with his family when he suffered a heart attack on Christmas morning. The family have asked for their privacy to be respected during this sensitive time.”
Former Spice Girl Bunton was recently announced as a new judge for ITV1’s Dancing On Ice, which launches on Sunday.

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson has admitted that he cannot wait to meet Emma Bunton on Dancing On Ice.

Richardson confessed that he used to be a huge fan of the Spice Girls as a youngster, revealing that he even had pictures of Bunton on his bedroom wall.

“I’m looking forward to Emma Bunton – Baby Spice. She is a Spice Girl. A worldwide Spice Girl,” he told DS. “Just the fact that she might say my name is incredible. She’ll have seen my picture, so she has seen us.

“I mean, I had pictures of these girls when I was growing up. I had the book. I had the photos – £1 and you got them all.”

Fellow Dancing On Ice contestant Emily Atack joked: “We need to stop getting so star struck at everybody we meet. I keep doing it and I will look like an idiot. Do you think she has shown the other Spice Girls our pictures?”

Richardson, who is partnered on the reality show by Brianne Delcourt, added: “Yeah, ‘Look at this picture, Geri!’”

Bunton was confirmed as the new fifth judge for Dancing On Ice in December.
