Hotly-tipped to take over from Christine Bleakley on The One Show is Gaby Roslin, but she faces a fight with Emma Bunton, Myleene Klass and Melanie Sykes.

But Gaby is the current favourite – and she could be reunited with her former Big Breakfast co-host Chris Evans for the show.

An insider revealed: “Gaby and Chris together would be amazing. Everyone’s trying to make it happen.

“They used to have really great chemistry.”

The other ladies may pull in a younger crowd, though – and Gaby may yet be pipped to the post.

A spokeswoman for the BBC said: “Nothing has been confirmed.”

The former Damage singer spiced up the show by rustling up a delicious meal of salmon with couscous – after Emma revealed their two-year-old son Beau loves the dish.

She said: ‘Beau loves this dish, it’s full of good things.’

‘We were saying this feels really natural – Jade in the kitchen, me on the sofa. That’s how it is at home!’

Jade – who trained as a chef after quitting music – was also joined in the kitchen by Pineapple Dance Studios star Louie Spence.

More answered the question recently, looking at what Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger spice have been up to in 2010.

Most famous of the five is Victoria Beckham, whose contribution to the band amounted to little more than her pout, the magazine said.

“She’s now an international brand – model, designer and mum to three gorgeous boys. Oh, and she’s married to David Beckham – the most beautiful man who has ever lived. Posh, we want your life,” it added.

However, the other girls are not without their successes. Geri Halliwell went on to forge a successful solo career and now writes children’s books, much to the delight of daughter Bluebell Madonna.

Meanwhile, Mel B is also a successful working mum and has recently released a fitness DVD in which she shows off a “killer body”.

Emma Bunton seems to be happy as a mum to Beau and is enjoying a burgeoning career as a TV presenter, while Mel C is also expecting a kid of her own.

The Spice Girls had hits with Mama, Two Become One and Wannabe.

The British glamour girl and her singer gal pal both looked a bit rough as they made their exit following the 4-hour cosmetic treatment.

In related news, Katie is being criticized by “Britain’s Got Talent” judge Amanda Holden for jumping into marriage with Alex Reid so quickly after her divorce from Peter Andre.

“I think Katie’s rushed into her second marriage. After a long-term relationship you need to be on your own to get to know yourself again. Alex is sweet but he’s out of his depth. Katie needs a man who can handle her feisty nature.”

She sure has. On the third show she told GMTV’s Dr Hilary Jones: “I literally couldn’t breathe through the whole dance and when you lifted her I felt physically sick, I was so nervous for you both.

“I just didn’t enjoy it and I’m glad you were smiling because I wasn’t.”

The next week she said of Emily Atack’s performance: “I just thought it looked messy, unsteady. I felt like you were being dragged around. You are improving but very little.”

Then, in show seven, she told Sharron Davies: “It’s a little bit like déjà vu for me, with a different outfit each week.”

It wasn’t just the celebrity dancers she was honest with.

She was happy to take on the other judges and disagreed with Jason when he called Emily lazy.

Now she’s ready to say what she thinks of the final three in Sunday’s grand final.

She said: “I didn’t want any of them to go last week. I loved them all.

“It’s my first Dancing On Ice final and I’m very excited.”

The three finalists will each perform two routines. First, the skating stars will get to “fly” and then they will perform their favourite routine from the series.

After this, the couple with the least votes will be eliminated.

And then the remaining two will face the ultimate test – to skate to the Bolero.

All the celebs who were voted off earlier in the series will also return to recreate a favourite ice moment.

Emma has been wearing some of former bandmate Victoria Beckham’s dresses during the show but she is staying mum about her outfit on Sunday.

She said: “It’s been lovely to get some of her dresses because they are beautiful.

“You do feel so sexy in them.”

During her time in the Spice Girls, Emma gained a goody two-shoes image.

And when she went solo, sugar-coated singles like What Took You So Long? and Downtown reinforced that.

But being a judge on Dancing On Ice has changed the public’s opinion of her.

She has come across as confident, warm and unafraid.

Also, Baby Spice now has her own baby, two-year-old son Beau, with long-term partner Jade Jones.

Emma said: “I didn’t realise you feel a lot more settled once you hit 30. You kind of think, ‘OK, now I’m just going to relax’.

“I had my little boy, obviously. It’s been fab.”

Back in the Spice Girls days, Emma was famous for her good relationship with her mum, Pauline.

And now she’s a mum herself, they’ve become even better friends.

Emma said: “It’s quite funny because, as you get older, you kind of become the mother.

“You become closer friends and you can talk about lots more and give each other advice.”

Pauline helped her when she went on the Spice Girls reunion tour just three months after Beau was born.

And Emma admits she wouldn’t have been able to cope with the physical and emotional strain of being a new mum and being back on stage if it hadn’t been for Pauline and Jade.

She said: “Having Beau with me and Jade and my family was huge. You have your support there.

“And being with the other girls made it a lot easier. We had all our children there and helped each other out.”

While she has ruled out another big tour while Beau is still so young, Emma hasn’t completely closed the door on performing with the girls again.

There are rumours that they may take part in the opening ceremony at the London 2012 Olympics and there’s talk of a musical, Viva Forever, based on Spice Girls tunes.

Emma said: “When we’re back together, it’s really fun and easy. It’s the best feeling.”

But now that’s she’s cracked it as a Dancing On Ice judge, does she prefer singing or television?

She giggled: “Oh dear, I definitely can’t choose between them.

“Well, music’s always been my first love, obviously, but I’ve learnt so much making the show and it’s been an amazing experience.

“Working with a great crew – and, of course, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – has been great.

“I don’t think I could pick between music and television.

“I just feel lucky that I’m able to dip my toe into so many different things.”

The skating show has proved once and for all that Emma isn’t anyone’s dummy.

And she laughs off any lingering doubts that she’s all nice and sweet as she reveals that she turns into Scary Spice behind the wheel.

She said: “I’m terrible when I drive. I don’t know what it is.

“I think it’s just because other drivers drive me mad. It’s not great to see.”

Bookies William Hill are all but certain that Hayley will win Dancing On Ice. She is 1-7 to win and 1-2 to get a perfect score of 30 in her favourite dance routine.

The big question is who will finish second, with Hills being unable to split Gary and Kieron, who are both 10-11.
