Celeb mums line up to replace Christine Bleakley on The One Show

A whole host of celeb mums are fighting for the role as presenter of The One Show when Christine Bleakley leaves in the autumn.

Hotly-tipped to take over from Christine Bleakley on The One Show is Gaby Roslin, but she faces a fight with Emma Bunton, Myleene Klass and Melanie Sykes.

But Gaby is the current favourite – and she could be reunited with her former Big Breakfast co-host Chris Evans for the show.

An insider revealed: “Gaby and Chris together would be amazing. Everyone’s trying to make it happen.

“They used to have really great chemistry.”

The other ladies may pull in a younger crowd, though – and Gaby may yet be pipped to the post.

A spokeswoman for the BBC said: “Nothing has been confirmed.”

Emma Bunton joined on GMTV by her fiancé Jade Jones

Emma Bunton has taken over Lorraine Kelly’s spot on GMTV this week and was joined this morning by her fiancé Jade Jones.
This week has been Emma’s first ever go at live TV and her and her fiancé pulled off a Richard and Judy moment when Emma assisted Jade in the kitchen as he shared his top recipes with viewers.

The former Damage singer spiced up the show by rustling up a delicious meal of salmon with couscous – after Emma revealed their two-year-old son Beau loves the dish.

She said: ‘Beau loves this dish, it’s full of good things.’

‘We were saying this feels really natural – Jade in the kitchen, me on the sofa. That’s how it is at home!’

Jade – who trained as a chef after quitting music – was also joined in the kitchen by Pineapple Dance Studios star Louie Spence.

Whatever happened to the Spice Girls?

They paved the way for the likes of the Pussycat Dolls and Sugababes, but where are the Spice Girls now?

More answered the question recently, looking at what Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger spice have been up to in 2010.

Most famous of the five is Victoria Beckham, whose contribution to the band amounted to little more than her pout, the magazine said.

“She’s now an international brand – model, designer and mum to three gorgeous boys. Oh, and she’s married to David Beckham – the most beautiful man who has ever lived. Posh, we want your life,” it added.

However, the other girls are not without their successes. Geri Halliwell went on to forge a successful solo career and now writes children’s books, much to the delight of daughter Bluebell Madonna.

Meanwhile, Mel B is also a successful working mum and has recently released a fitness DVD in which she shows off a “killer body”.

Emma Bunton seems to be happy as a mum to Beau and is enjoying a burgeoning career as a TV presenter, while Mel C is also expecting a kid of her own.

The Spice Girls had hits with Mama, Two Become One and Wannabe.

Katie Price and Emma Bunton: Botox Babes

Looking to give their looks an upgrade, Katie Price and Emma Bunton were spotted hitting up a Botox clinic in Hertfordshire, England on Friday (April 30).

The British glamour girl and her singer gal pal both looked a bit rough as they made their exit following the 4-hour cosmetic treatment.

In related news, Katie is being criticized by “Britain’s Got Talent” judge Amanda Holden for jumping into marriage with Alex Reid so quickly after her divorce from Peter Andre.

“I think Katie’s rushed into her second marriage. After a long-term relationship you need to be on your own to get to know yourself again. Alex is sweet but he’s out of his depth. Katie needs a man who can handle her feisty nature.”

Emma Bunton Gets Free Clothes From Posh

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton couldn’t be happier for her one-time groupmate Victoria Beckham’s success in the fashion industry – especially since she gets to wear Posh’s high-end dresses from time to time.
Bunton, who currently judges the UK TV show Dancing on Ice, says Mrs. Beckham has been sending dresses her way to wear on the show.
“I love her stuff!” Bunton told new! magazine. “It’s been lovely to get some of her dresses because they are beautiful – you do feel so sexy in them. They’re gorgeous.”
“I am so, so proud of her. She has always been so into fashion.”
Bunton may soon join her fellow Spice Girl in the design ring, as she’s apparently eager to design a children’s line. Bunton has a two-year-old son named Beau with her partner of 11 years, singer Jade Jones.

Emma Bunton: Dancing on Ice has helped me lose the Baby Spice tag

THE Dancing On Ice champion will be crowned on Sunday but the real winner of the series is Emma Bunton.
Not afraid of making an unpopular comment or locking horns with the show’s ice maiden Jason Gardiner, Baby Spice has shown that she’s grown up.
When it was announced the former Spice Girl was going to replace Ruthie Henshall as a judge, many wondered what she would offer given she had no ice-skating experience.
Emma said it was honesty – and she won’t go all gooey this weekend as the final three, Gary Lucy, Kieron Richardson and Hayley Tamaddon, skate to win.
She said: “It’s very nerve-wracking and I do know how the contestants are feeling. I also know they have to put everything into it.”
As well as being in one of the biggest girl bands in history, Emma, 34, finished third in the 2006 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
This has helped her understand what the celebrities have been going through these past 11 weeks.
She said: “When I did Strictly, I worked seven days a week, 14 hours a day. It was really mad.
“I know that it’s a new skill that they are all learning. So that’s why I’ve been quite strong with how I feel about it and quite honest.” Read more… »

Emma Bunton thinks Kieron Richardson deserves to win Dancing On Ice

She may have been new to the show this series but Emma Bunton now seems like a pro.
Bunton was asked who she thinks will give a good performance or who will feel the pressure.
Bunton said Hayley Tamaddon’s been brilliant throughout the entire series,”
“Gary Lucy is technically the best skater – very secure and confident. But I am still waiting for that outstanding performance from him, that’s what I need from him tonight.”
“But, for me, Kieron Richardson deserves it more than anyone else. He’s grown the most and become a very confident performer.”
Bunton speaks about her time on the show and says “I have been more honest than I suppose I thought I would be. But I am a judge, I have to be honest, otherwise what’s the point? “I’ve absolutely loved working on the show. And it’s been great in terms of hours. As a working mum, I can spend all week with my little boy Beau then work on Sunday evenings.”
About tonight Bunton says “I don’t know who’ll win – it’s all down to the public, so it’s going to be a really exciting final.”

Emily Atack has improved on Dancing on Ice says Emma Bunton

Dancing on Ice judge Emma Bunton has said that Emily Atack “has grown” as a performer since the outset of the current series of the ice dance contest.
The former Spice Girl told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning that she has been enjoying watching the Inbetweeners star take to the ice.
Emily, who is currently priced at 66/1 to win the contest by bookmakers William Hill, survived the skate-off with Sharron Davies on last Sunday night’s show.
However, Bunton admitted that she believes that Atack is gradually improving and gaining in confidence.
Emma said: “I think that Emily has definitely grown and I loved her doing her own moves on last week’s show.
“I just wanted her whole performance to move a bit faster and to flow a bit better.”
She added: “But she does look just like a dolly on the ice. She is simply lovely to watch.”
Emma’s fellow panelist Jason Gardiner has said that he believes that Atack should be the next contestant to be voted off the show.
The acid-tongue Aussie has slammed Emily for her lack of effort on the ice.
Gardiner wrote in his column for The Sun: “[Atack] should be next to go.
“She has not once given any sort of a performance. She’s just got one safe level and never raises her game.”
